Want marginally more control on how your scenes and pages link together? Want a slightly more mature interface? Try the Basic Story Adventure Creator, not as basic, but still basic! *Please note that due to changes in how BSAC and BestSAC save their story files, they are not compatible with each other, however BSAC Html files should be compatible with the Basic-est Story Adventure Theme Designer.

Welcome to the Basic-est Story Adventure Creator! A simple way to make simple branching stories. Add your story's Title and what you want the Start Button text to be, then just start writing your story in the Story Scene area and add the options that lead from your scene. Options are automatically added to the Select a Scene drop down list for easy indexed navigation of your story's scenes.

At a glance:

  • 1 - 4 options per scene
  • Auto-scene Indexing based off options text
  • Index list and live navigation
  • Save/Load project for continued progress
  • Compile to a very basic HTML
  • Enhance the atmosphere of your compiled story with Basic-est Story Adventure Theme Designer!

For a more interactive experience, Shift+click the options in your story to visit them, allowing you to navigate your story in a similar way as the compiled HTML file.

Empty Scenes are listed in the drop down in red, as well as listed on the right side of the screen to help you make sure all your story's paths carry the reader forward. Please note that in order to compile your story into an HTML file you must have no Empty Scenes in your story.

Linked Scenes are also listed to the right, these are scenes that lead to the current scene.

Options boxes change color to show you if you are adding an entirely new scene(shown in yellow only the first time the option appears), or if that option will lead you to a scene that already exists(shown in green). Please note that green options do not mean the scene has been written, just that the option exists in the story already. Check the Empty Scenes list to make sure all your scenes have been written.

Focus oriented input boxes, with a scene preview. Making every key stroke feel like it counts by forcing the focus into a small area, writing feels more like taking a series of steps while focusing on the ground to get to your destination then getting lost in the clouds. (Although there has been some debate about opening up the preview area for editing the story)

In order to compile your story as an HTML file your story must have no empty scenes.

This project was made with the theme 'Making complicated things simple and simple things complicated. Round One - Getting things done...the wrong way.'
